The talented dancer’s journey practicing the performing arts did not begin until he turned 17.

Less than five years after he started dancing, he bagged the first prize in the international dance show franchise So You Think You Can Dance: Armenia before finishing as the 3rd-place male dancer on the show’s US version in 2013.

Following the respectable loss in the So You Think You Can Dance in the US, he went on to star as a season regular for another iconic dance show—Dancing with the Stars season 20 and its national tour.

He has also been featured as an International Guest Star in the Indian reality dance show Dance Plus for its third season.

Being the absolute entertainer that he is, Paul has also graced the stages of the 89th and 90th Annual Oscars and the MTV EMAs, where he performed on Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud.

Not just that, Paul also performed alongside Paula Abdul for her iconic throwback performance at the 2019 Billboard Awards.

Paul is More Than Just an Amazing Dancer

Paul’s artistic expression has not been prive to only dance shows and award shows, though. He has also showcased his graceful skills for TV shows like Hulu’s Future Man, Disney’s Liv and Madie, and Girl Meets World and has performed for international superstars, Luis Fonsi, Natti Natasha, and alongside Jennifer Lopez in her 2018 and 2019 World of Dance promos.

That being said, Paul’s career as an actor is just starting to take shape now that he has wrapped the Hulu revival of Veronica Mars. That is not the only show where Paul has put his acting skills out for the world to see.

Furthermore, Paul has also appeared as a series regular for season 1 and 2 of Complex’s In the Vault as Omid, the entitled British and Farsi speaking Persian prince with a dark secret, and as a series regular for Snapchat’s Dead Girls Detective Agency season 4.

That’s not all; you can witness his creativity on his social media platforms like Instagram and Tik Tok, where he enjoys a massive fan following (as of the second week of October 2020). He has 130k+ and 154k+ followers on Instagram and Tik Tok, respectively.

Paul Karmiryan is nowhere near his artistic limit as he has so gracefully demonstrated through a versatile career. He is definitely an artist in showbiz you should look out for.

Paul Karmiryan says He Didn't Start Dancing at a Young Age

Talking to Popcultarist magazine in 209, the talented entertainer talked about his dancing journey, his early love for acting, and then went on to remark that he was “lucky” to have balanced both acting and dancing. The question in hand was how he started to pursue both acting and dancing and what he preferred more between the two.

The Los Angelos native disclosed in the interview that he started dancing at a “very late age.” It was only in high-school when he started taking dancing classes because of a school project. After that, he started participating in competitions, and dance shows that gifted him with adequate exposure.

Similarly, he didn’t know how to make it in the acting industry up until meeting the “people in the business.”

...I have always wanted to act! There was something about telling a story and making people feel detached from their everyday lives that I gravitated towards. I just didn’t know how to take steps into the acting industry until after I started meeting other people in the business who helped guide me...

“I don’t necessarily gravitate towards one or the other; I am lucky to have an even balance of involvement in both worlds. Naturally, as an athlete, I won’t be able to be a professional dancer for the rest of my life, but I know it will always be a part of my life one way or another,” he added.
